The MERCOSUR agreement was signed, concerning the duty-free transfer of agricultural products of questionable origin from Latin American countries to the European Union, in exchange for these countries importing agricultural or other industrial machinery from Europe. Here we are talking about supporting the industry of mainly northern countries, disregarding the agriculture of southern European countries. The willing Greek government, although the farmers are on the streets protesting, voted for the above agreement, indifferent to the country.
