Death in the workplace

Once we used to talk about five-hour workdays and four-day work weeks, but when the people become poorer and there is no reaction, thirteen-hour schedules are established, as here in Greece—I don’t know about Italy—for the “development” of the country, of course, along with the development of the capital of the so‑called investors who borrow from the banks without investing even a single euro of their own. Then workplace accidents become an insignificant event that none of those who supposedly look after our well-being cares about. And another thing: “they tell you that life expectancy has changed, therefore work until you are seventy years old”; you can even do that while being supported by a walking stick.

If you look at the situation worldwide: Workers who even have a hard hat have an advantage. Working conditions are disastrous, especially in the poorest regions of the world.
