The United States has nearly exhausted its stockpile of long-range precision missiles during the five-month war with Iran, according to U.S. officials and defense sources cited by Reuters. Stocks of Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) and Precision Strike Missiles have been heavily depleted, while about 65% of U.S. Patriot interceptors and 38% of THAAD interceptors have reportedly been used. Nearly half of the Navy’s Tomahawk cruise missiles have also been deployed.

The depletion is raising concerns about U.S. military readiness for potential future conflicts while production is being expanded. Rheinmetall's CEO said rebuilding U.S. ATACMS stocks will take more than two years, highlighting the difficulty of rapidly replacing the weapons used during the conflict.

At the same time, the Trump administration is pursuing negotiations with Iran aimed at ending the conflict and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Trump has expressed optimism that an agreement could be reached soon, although significant disagreements over control of the waterway remain.
