It remains the only capitol city outside of the United States which is named after an American President. 10) A 5¢ Liberty Issue postage stamp which honors President Monroe was released by the USPS on 12/12/1954. 9) At George Mason University, the University of Mary Washington, the George Washington University and the College of William and Mary, various academic buildings are named after him. 8) They city of Monroe, MI is also named after James Monroe. 7) Monroe County, NY, was established in 1821, and it is named after him. 6) Monroe County, PA, which was founded in 1836, was given its named in memory of Mr. Monroe. 5) The city of Monroe, GA, was made official in 1821, and it too is named after the former American President. 4) In central NJ, Monroe Township, which was 1838, equally carries the name of the fifth U.S. President. 3) The last US President to wear a powdered wig tied in a queue, as well as a tricorn and knee breeches (which pre-dated knickerbockers) in the 18th century fashion, was James Monroe. This earned him the nickname of "the last cocked hat". 2) Mr. Monroe was the last president who was never photographed, and whose remaining, preserved portraits are uniquely in paintings. 1) James Monroe was the 3rd consecutive President of the United States, elected to two consecutive terms, a fact which would not repeat itself until 2012, with the re-election of President Barack Obama. This list is intended to give the reader a greater understanding of the impact upon American history and world history of President Monroe's administration. It first saw the light of day on November 21, 2013, as the next in line of the balding presidents collection from the binary options traders' market update. The illustrated graphic originated as a black and white ink drawing on white paper. Its colors were edited using the GIMP computer program. Trading volume on the day of its issue was volatile, due to investor concerns about potential effects of a federal reserve bank slowdown of the $85 Billion cash injection into the US economy, which some have called an internal Monroe Doctrine, at least when it comes to the support of democratic institutions and economic forces which sustain American interests.
