On September 25, 2013, in San Francisco Bay, San Francisco, California, ORACLE TEAM USA achieved a sports feat so great, that it had no precedent. On that sunny day, the American team, skippered by an Australian-born helmsman named Spithill, crossed the big finish line first, ahead of the Emirates Team New Zealand boat and crew, after coming back from a deficit of 8-1 in the first eleven races of the 19 race competition. This op-ed webcomic shows the 72' tall, AC72 catamaran just after it has crossed the finish line. The line is red and written on it in big white letters are the words "big comebacks." This is a satire of the actual line most people saw on television or online, which simply said "finish" on it. And in fact, in the last race, most people just saw it crossing a graphic of an American flag. The first instance of this image was displayed by optionsclick in the binary investor news of 9/26/2013 for the benefit of sports fans, traders, analysts and media professionals, as well as a host of other people who simply love editorial comics and caricatures of the day's events.
