Hakkımda

My name is László Dluhopolszky and I am the cartoonist of Budapest Reggel, an Axel Springer tabloid. I have been drawing as a press cartoonist for the past 35 years. My first creations came to life is 1970 and was published by the MAGYAR IFJÚSÁG. Later I was employed by the Füles and the Rakéta paperback novel. I started my professional career is 1980 when I became a colleague of the NÉPSZAVA gazette. Here I spent 10 years and I worked under Pál Gedeon and László Fodor chief editors. During this fruitful period I worked at the television TV TÜKÖR program, under the leadership of Tamás Szegkő (1980-90). My drawings were continually being published in the then flourishing KÉPES SPORTLAP (1979-85). I have illustrated eight books for the MORA book publisher. In 1987 I was honored with the Excellence prize at the Tokyo cartoonist competition. (Youmiuri Shinbun, 1987). This was my career’s most important international success. In 1987 my drawings were published in the american International Herald Tribune Paris edition. From 1987 to 1997 I was the Hungarian correspondent for the American professional Journal WittyWorld. In 1989 I became the Új Szabad Száj graphical editor. In 1990 on February the 8th I was appointed by the Newspaper publisher corporation as the Ludas Matyi. Chief editor were I worked until 1994 January the 1st. In 1996-97 I received work from the Esti hírlap, for two years I was the Napi Magyarország, then the Kisújság’s cartoonist. From 2000 till 2002 I appeared from month to month in MTV’s Évszakok light music program as their portrait cartoonist. From 2003 I am the secretary of the Hungarian cartoonist association. From September 2004 I have been taken on by the newly published Reggel tabloid as their illustrator and front page cartoonist. Last year my first cartoon album was published under the name: LUDAS VAGYOK. The volume contains 140 drawings.. I am not a member of any political party this is why one of my main areas and subjects is internal and foreign politics.
